Revo’s Red Hots

Revolution Gallery Loyal Fans;

 Revolution has been selling local art for more than 10 years and I'm pleased to announce some positive changes taking place.  There is a new owner of Revolution Gallery as of July 1, 2008.  Pennie Humphreys has been a customer for years and has a background in graphic design, art direction and photography.  She's long dreamt of having a shop in Gilman Village and is committed to local art and our eco friendly approach.  I'm confident that her experience, ideas and love of art will give Revolution a wonderful new energy.   It is my hope that you will welcome this wonderful news and continue to support her and Revolution.

We have an incredible sale going on (a rarity for an artists' co-op).  See below for some of the great deals currently on offer.  Please know how much we have enjoyed the happy task of finding you just the right something special or a necklace that matches your favorite earrings, both of which we will truly miss and which made this decision particularly bittersweet.

Running Revolution has been one of the great joys of my life. I'm looking forward to spending more time now with Caris, the new great joy of my life.  I've enjoyed getting to know you all and appreciate your support of Revolution these past 4 years (and Evolution before that, for many of you!).  I'll look forward to seeing you next time I'm in shopping for gifts.

 Cheers,

Mary

 I’m all fired up learning more and more about how shopping locally affects our community.  There’s a great website (www.amiba.net) that offers some staggering statistics.  Shopping at locally owned businesses not only ensures that you’re buying more unique products and benefiting from more personalized customer service, but it has a huge impact on our communities.  Did you know that for every $100 spent at a big box store, only $13 stays in the community?  But for every $100 spent at a locally owned business, $45 stays in the community.   And for a shop like Revolution where everything is made locally and most materials are sourced locally, that number shoots up to about $95!  Pretty cool, eh?  There’s no better way to ensure that the one of a kind shops you love will be here for many years to come.

Thank you for supporting local businesses, like Revolution, and contributing to a sustainable economy within our community.

~ Mary
